Pupils should complete 1 or 2 of the following activities for the spelling words they have been given each week. Homework should be handed in on a Friday. The class is aiming for a target of 3000 points! They have currently reached 595 points.
SPELLING WORD CHOICES
1. Write your spelling words in alphabetical order. (10 points)
2. Write a poem using at least half of your spelling words. (15 points)
3. Use graph paper or the website www.puzzlemaker.com to create a word search using all of your spelling words. (15 points)
4. Create a cartoon strip using at least half of your spelling words. (20 points)
5. Write your spelling words 4 times each. (25 points)
6. Divide each spelling word into syllables. (10 points)
7. Put your spelling words in sentences. (15 points)
8. Create a game that can be used to practice your spelling words. (30 points)
9. Rainbow Words – Write your spelling words with a crayon. Trace over each word with another colour. Now trace each word one more time with another colour. (15 points)
10. Ladder Words – Write each spelling word as shown below: (20 points)
