Many years ago, there was an astronomy group which made and used a 6 inch reflecting telescope. The mirror was provided by Mr. Bill Kay of Lerwick.

Now, the astronomy group has reformed. Meetings are most Fridays at 3:30 - 5:00 with Mr. Bicket and Mr. McGinlay.

We are restoring a 12 inch Dall-Kirkham, made and donated by Mr Bill Kay as well as a 10 inch reflector on a hefty mount, donated by Mr. Reg Hussey of Mossbank.

The telescopes will be housed in a shed to be constructed on the school grounds.
